The Harbour collection by Living Space continues the company’s research into wood-effect products inspired by timeworn, visually-striking materials with unusual origins. In this case the source of inspiration is the famous Venetian “briccole”, the mooring posts or so-called “dolphins” used in the lagoon, which need to be replaced periodically once the submerged portions have been damaged due to exposure to salt water. These posts, named after the dolphins which guide boats into the harbour, are cut into planks with characteristic long, thin cracks caused by the prolonged action of the waves and traces of colour produced by contact with the salty water. These unique details are reproduced with a high degree of realism in porcelain, creating a surface with an original personality that is ideal for highly decorative floors and walls. Harbour comes in 6 colours (Milk, Clay, Oak, Moon, Grey, Coal) and in the three sizes 40×170 cm, 20×170 cm and 20×120 cm. The creativity and experimentation underpinning this collection can also be used to create customised surfaces consisting of slats and decorative insets with a multicoloured brushed effect. The Harbour collection planks from Living Space are produced using Auto-Leveling technology. A very small degree of convexity guarantees maximum bonding to the substrate after installation as the tiles self-level under their own weight, ensuring perfect flatness even in the case of dry-set installation. The Harbour collection boasts a 40% content of recycled material, demonstrating Living Space continuous focus on sustainable building and its commitment to meeting the requirements of the LEED international rating system (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which promotes the use of materials with low environmental impact and sustainable building design.
